follow the steps given below: 1. Connect your USB flash drive or floppy disk to the system. 2. Type User Accounts in start menu search field and hit enter to open User Accounts window. 3. In the left pane, click Create a password reset disk to launch the Forgotten Password Wizard. 4. To continue, click next button and then select your USB flash drive or floppy disk. Again, click next button to proceed to the next step. 5. In this step, you need to enter your current User Account password. Just type the password. Make sure that you type the correct password and if the account
does not have a password, leave the box blank. 6. Click next to create the password reset disk. Once the process the completed, click next button to finish the procedure. Note: You can’t use this password reset disk on another Windows 7 machine. Also you need not to create another reset disk after using it to change the password. Here is how you can use the password reset disk in Windows 7 to create a new password:
1. When you type a wrong password at the login screen, you will see “The username or password is incorrect” error. 2. Click OK to see Reset password option. 3. Insert your password reset disk and then click on the Reset password option to open Password Reset Wizard. Click next button to continue. 4. Select the password reset disk (that you used while creating the reset disk) from the drop down box. Click next to proceed to the next step. 5. Enter a new password and then type the password again to confirm. 6. Click the next button and then click the finish button to close the wizard. 7. Now enter the new password in password box in the login screen to login to your user account.

You can reset windows user account password in safe mode(F8 when booting up). But if you forgot administrator password, you must reinstall windows OS or use windows password recovery disk.

If you lost windows password. I found a windows password reset tool. you can wrote it to an blank CD or USB flash drive to reset administrator password. Booting up and clearing a password takes a minute or two works like a charm.
